彗星しずか lit."Quiet Comet" is a virtual singer for OpenUTAU created by vocalsynth hobbyist Piposaur.
An artificially constructed lifeform created by a race of bird-like aliens who reside on the moon. Her species wished to make peaceful contact with humanity, and so Shizuka was created and sent to earth to be an emissary between earth and the moon. Her purpose is to voice to the wants, wishes, and feelings of mankind - singing the songs of humankind helps her to better understand the emotions of others and fulfill her duty.
She is very meek outside of singing and struggles in conversation, often appearing uncaring to some due to her relatively inexpressive face. However, deep down Shizuka posesses strong emotions, including an intense sympathy towards old and discarded technology.
Trivia: Shizuka is based around her VP's favourite bird - the shoebill. She shares her given name with a real shoebill at Chiba Zoological Park.
